My main research interests are the radiation processes in the atmosphere and remote sensing of the atmosphere and land surface, with emphasis in the direct aerosol and cloud effects and their consequences at the surface radiation budget and vegetation photosynthesis. The areas of study are the Metropolitan Area of São Paulo and the Amazon region, including the ATTO (Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory).

M.Sc Jorge Rosas Santana, formed as a meteorologist at the Instituto de Tecnologías y Ciencias Aplicadas (INSTEC) in Havana, Cuba 2011. He worked during 4 years 2011-2015 in the Atmospheric optics Group of Camaguey Cuba (GOAC, acronym in Spanish), belonging to the Instituto de Meteorologia de Cuba (INSMET) as the Researcher Applicant. During this time he researches the solar radiative transfer of atmospheric constituents, especially clouds and aerosols. He began to study the master degree course at the University of São Paulo in 2016, developing the research project titled: Cloud effects on solar radiation at Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2018 he started the Doctorate Course, currently working on a project about the 3D-effects of clouds on the radiation budget in São Paulo and in the Amazon region.
